Top 5 best strategies in putting your baby to sleep

Newborns are having struggle in identifying between night and day, which explains their lack of sleep. So In the name of saving you from those unnecessary sleepless nights, I have listed below the following tips to help you all sleep especially the baby.

1. Follow an early sleeping routine

Make sure to set a time for sleeping and strictly follow it. Because if the baby will sleep at a later time, it takes longer to fall asleep, and they tend to wake more at night. The best time to sleep is around 7 PM to 8 PM.

2. Dreamfeed

Dreamfeed is feeding the baby right before you go to bed. This helps prevent your baby from waking up and which will make your baby sleep for longer while you sleep.

3. Keep your room dark

Make it a habit to turn the lights off during bedtime, this will help your baby sleep and allow them to get used to the routine. Introducing your baby's days bright and nights dark and they will quickly figure out when it's time to sleep. If your baby wakes up during the night, don't turn the lights on or carry. Instead, soothe your baby’s back to sleep.

4. Don’t change the diaper if not soiled

Resist yourself from changing diapers in the middle of the night, they don't always need it, If your baby wakes up in the middle of the night, check and sniff to see if it is soiled and change if there’s poop.

5. Don’t rush before picking up your baby

Wait for a moment before going to your baby. Most of the time, babies will wake up babble and go back to sleep. Give them some time and see if your baby will resettle by themselves. Do not rush in and it will help your newborn baby sleep better. Most of the time, babies fell back to sleep on their own and that's the thing you want to practice.
